In November 1949, Mr. Rodolfo and Mr. Camillo Bruini donated a property to the "Opera Pia Fregni" foundation (established as a non-profit organization by Royal Decree of July 5, 1934) located in Solara di Bomporto, "to be used in perpetuity as a nursery school for the poor children of the hamlet of Solara... to be named in perpetuity the "Alda Bruini Nursery School."
In 1970, with the authorization of the donors' heirs, the aforementioned organization sold the property located on Via Carrate and built the building on Via Don Monari that still houses the school today.
Since its inception, the school has always been staffed by qualified religious staff, members of the order of the Pastorelle Sisters. They fulfilled their educational role, giving the school an identity rich in Christian and humanitarian values, which it still maintains today. About ten years ago, the religious staff was withdrawn from the house. Mother and then replaced by the diocesan ordinary with lay teaching and auxiliary staff.
TODAY
Our school is located in a hamlet of a rural community, but with a growing artisanal and small-scale industry, attracting workers from both southern Italy and abroad. This diverse aspect of the town is reflected in the school, which attracts children with very diverse backgrounds.
Despite being a small community, the children's living environments are highly diverse: some children live in apartments and have small courtyards or public gardens, while others live in the open countryside and enjoy freedom and contact with nature and animals. The entire town is engaged and sensitive to the issues facing the preschool and responds positively to the initiatives proposed.
